Kardashians
“There is a petition on facebook with over 100.000
signatures as of November 17th to get the Kardashians off
the air. An online petition
was started to ask E! to boycott the Kardashian television
programs in the wake of the Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries
divorce after just over 70 days of marriage.
Petition
organizer Cyndy Snider says in
a statement to Yahoo, 'In a grass roots effort, we have collected
[thousands of] signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to
remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming. We feel
that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity,
greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous
consumption.'
The petition is called "No More Kardashian" and as of 8:15 a.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 17, it is up to almost 107,000 signatures. The Facebook page supporting the petition is up to 113,000+ Likes.”
Here! Here! I am sick of seeing the name and the faces every day on TV or on the internet. It seems that someone is fixated on them or their agent is one of the best for keeping them in the news. They do not contribute anything worthwhile to society. Yet, they made over 65 million dollars doing what?
The same goes for Lindsay Lohan, Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton, Kate Gosselin and a whole host of Hollywood names like Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore and there off again, on again marriage. Who cares!
There are “real” people living in our community who are fighting hunger, cancer and just daily struggles to pay the bills. Shouldn't our attention, concerns and compassion be directed to our family, friends and neighbors?
We have members of Congress involved in insider trading making millions of dollars, enriching themselves, the nation is 15 trillion dollars in debt, $15,000,000,000,000, the banks worldwide are stuck with 600 trillion dollars worth of essentially worthless paper on their books. And we are more concerned about what Kim or Lindsay or Ashton are doing?
We have bigger problems Oquawka!
